A Perfect Family Hatchback? Grand i10 Nios
UPCOMING HYUNDAI GRAND I10 NIOS REVIEW
Upcoming Grand i10 Nios is the 3rd generation to the i10 series from Hyundai. Promising a lot of new features than before.
The new-generation Hyundai Grand i10 will be introduced as a
part of the company plans to reduce the product lifecycle to five-six years with a
facelift set to be introduced every second year. The new model will be making a
comeback with a fresh set of cosmetic and feature upgrades
Engines: The Grand i10 will
carry forward the same set of 1.2-liter petrol and diesel engines. This time
around, Hyundai will offer both engines with an AMT (automated manual
transmission) option.
Variants: Hyundai will offer
the Nios in 5 variants - Era, Magna, Sportz, Sportz Dual Tone, and Asta.
However, the diesel engine won't be available with the entry-spec Era variant
or the Sportz Dual Tone variant. Neither the petrol-AMT nor diesel-AMT will be
offered on the top-spec Asta variant.
Exterior: The new Grand i10
Nios comes with a redesigned exterior, most notably identifiable by the latest
version of the cascading grille design flanked by new boomerang-styled
headlamps. We don’t yet know the production-spec appearance of the rear-end of
the Nios but expect it to feature new aesthetics as well. It will be available
in six monotone color options and two dual-tone colors, depending on the
variant.
Interior: The updated interior
features a new dashboard layout wherein the touchscreen infotainment unit is
integrated into the housing of the instrument cluster, a bit like the Kia Seltos.
The infotainment display itself seems to be a new 8-inch unit similar to the
one seen on the Venue. Hyundai has repositioned the central air vents below the
infotainment unit and into a rectangular design while the corner vents have
also been redesigned.
Rivals: It will continue its
rivalry with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ignis,
Ford Figo, Nissan Micra
